I saw this book in the Thrift store- with its lovely painting of a large passenger helicopter with side by side rotors suspended on beams away from the traditional style fuselage that looks big enough for 8-12 people- and I smiled.

Must have been super experimental- but I'll get the book and find out.... Well I was wrong- the Germans had several working passenger and "flying Crane" versions of advanced autogyros- and a clever smaller Auto Gyro they successfully used for Anti-submarine Warfare (?!) in the Aegean and in the the Mediterranean .
