Muhamedin Kullashi lindi në Pejë, me 29 nëntor 1949. Aty kreu shkollën fillore dhe gjimnazin.

Në Fakultetin filozofik të Zagrebit studioi filozofinë dhe letërsinë franceze. Nga viti 1974 deri më 1991 ligjëroi në Degën e Filozofisë dhe të Sociologjisë të Univerzitetit të Prishtinës.
