9/11 memorial wall of portraits finally completed 21 years after attacks
On the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, a monumental exhibit to the fallen has finally been completed.
The Portrait Wall, viewable at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum at Ground Zero in New York City, long sought to portray an image of all 2,997 victim from the attacks.
The completed monument now showcases photos of every victim that died at the World Trade Centers, the Pentagon and on Flight 93, as well as the six killed during the 1993 World Trade Center Bombing.
But the task of compiling these images was not easy.
The project, which was started in 2006, was incomplete for over a decade – even after its first public unveiling in 2014.
